Feature
AI understanding of your existing archive
In plain English
Drop your historical contracts — PDFs, scans, old Word files — into version90's archive and AI extracts the counterparty, agreement type, dates, key clauses and risks from each one. The folder nobody opens becomes a database everybody can query.
Every company has The Folder
It's called Legal — FINAL or Contracts (Old Drive), it contains somewhere between 40 and 4,000 documents, and the only person who knew what was in it left in 2023. Asking it a question — "which agreements auto-renew this quarter?" — means an afternoon of opening PDFs one at a time like a sad advent calendar.
Upload everything. Ask anything.
Batch-upload the whole folder. Each document is stored as-is (still downloadable, always) and read by AI as a complete file — including signed scans. Out the other side: a browsable catalog with real columns. Filter by counterparty before a renewal call. Pull every agreement with a data-processing clause when a customer asks. Sort by expiration and discover the renewals before the invoice does.
Risk flags on the back catalog
The same review brain that reads new drafts reads old ones: auto-renewals with long notice windows, uncapped liability, exclusivity you forgot you granted. Your archive stops being a liability of unknown size and becomes a list you can work through.
It also teaches the rest of the product
Your archive is evidence of how you actually contract. version90 uses it to suggest which standard templates and clauses your library is missing — grounded in your own history, not a generic checklist.
Key terms

Frequently asked questions
What file types can I upload to the version90 archive?
PDF and Word (.docx) — the two formats your history actually exists in. Documents are passed to the AI as whole files, so scanned-and-signed PDFs work, not just clean text.
What does version90 extract from archived contracts?
Title, counterparty, agreement type, effective/executed/expiration dates, governing law, key terms, notable clauses, and risk flags like auto-renewals or unlimited liability — plus a summary. Everything becomes filterable and searchable.
How does version90 know which party is the counterparty?
It knows who you are. Your organization's legal name (from Settings) is passed with every extraction, so 'the counterparty' is always the other side — not a coin flip between the two names on the cover page.
What happens if extraction fails on a document?
The document stays stored and downloadable, the failure is logged with a copyable error, and there's a one-click re-extract. Your files are never held hostage by a parsing problem.
