What is version90?
version90 is contract review and management software for small businesses and startups. It combines Word-native redlining in the browser, AI review with verified citations, benchmarking against your standard terms, a searchable archive of executed agreements, and immutable version control — in one product at $100/month.
Who is version90 for?
Teams that negotiate real contracts without a legal department: startups, agencies, professional services firms, and small businesses. If your 'contract management system' is currently a shared drive, an inbox, and one very tired operations person — it's for you.
Does version90 replace Microsoft Word?
It replaces needing Word for the review workflow, while staying 100% Word-compatible. You redline in the browser; the file remains a genuine .docx with genuine tracked changes; counterparties continue using Word and notice nothing.
Does version90 handle PDFs?
Yes, in the archive: executed agreements uploaded as PDF (including signed scans) are read whole by AI for extraction. Active negotiation and redlining are DOCX-native, because that's the format negotiations actually happen in.
How do I get my existing contracts into version90?
Drag the folder in. Active drafts become workspaces (each file becomes its own contract, with title, counterparty and type identified automatically). Executed history goes to the archive, where extraction makes it searchable.
AI, accuracy & trust
Which AI does version90 use, and does it train on my contracts?
version90 uses frontier commercial models under agreements that do not permit training on your data. Your contracts are your contracts. AI calls are used to produce your results and are not used to build anyone's foundation model.
How accurate is the AI review?
Findings are grounded: each one must cite specific contract text, and the citation is verified against the document before display — fabricated or unverifiable claims are suppressed. That discipline trades a little recall for a lot of trust. Treat what remains as a sharp first pass, not a verdict.
Is anything the AI produces legal advice?
No. version90 is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship. AI output is informational — a reading aid. Consult a licensed attorney for decisions that matter.
Can the AI change my document without me knowing?
No. Every AI suggestion is applied only by a human decision and lands as a visible, attributed tracked change. The AI has no write access to your documents on its own.
Workflow
Do counterparties need a version90 account?
No. They negotiate in Word over email like they always have. version90 ingests what they send — new versions file themselves against the right contract — and your side gets the timeline, the diff, and the turn indicator.
What happens when a counterparty sends a document with tracked changes?
version90 detects every insertion, deletion, comment and format change, lists them for review, and lets you accept or reject each — staged first, applied as one clean new version. You can also ask AI to explain any individual change against the whole document.
Can I edit a paragraph that still has unresolved changes?
Yes — exactly like Word. Your edits layer on top as additional tracked changes; deleting someone's pending insertion produces proper nested revision markup; everything stays independently resolvable.
What's on the roadmap?
Slack notifications, guest access for outside counsel, deeper search, and lifecycle automation (renewal reminders from archive data). Email-based collaboration, AI review, archive extraction, templates and benchmarking are live today.
Data & company
Is my data isolated from other customers?
Yes. Every record is organization-scoped and every query is tenant-checked; documents are stored per-organization with content hashes. Cross-tenant isolation is enforced in code and covered by security tests, not policy documents.
Can I export everything if I leave?
Yes — every version of every document downloads byte-for-byte identical to what entered the system. No export tax, no proprietary format hostage-taking.
Why is it called version90?
Because somewhere out there is a real negotiation on version 90 of a document, and every one of those versions was emailed. We named the product after the problem.
